I spoke with Lotus Support about this again today. If you have been keeping up with this, you can see my other posts here and here.
I am told that this should be fixed in the 7.0.1 Client. However, support (along with myself) believe this could be a major hinderance for those companies wishing to upgrade to 7.0. We would like to see a client hotfix for this in 7.0.
