RnRMgr (Rooms and Resources) Task in ND7

With the issues we've been having, I haven't had time to dig too deep into the RnRMgr changes for ND7. However, yesterday, there were three Lotus Support feeds on the topic. The will be staying in Bloglines until I get to them - hopefully soon!

What is the purpose of the RnRMgr task in ND7?

Domino 7 has centralized the processing of room and resource reservations into a new Rooms and Resources Manager (RnRMgr) task. This task is designed to prevent overbooking of rooms or resources and is responsible for both processing and all workflow that is related to reserving a room or resource, as well as accurately updating the Busytime.NSF database. This task replaces functionality that was previously handled in multiple places such as the router, the template of the Rooms and Resources database, and the Schedule Manager.

Functional changes in Domino 7 for reservations directly booked in the Resource database

There is a new Domino 7 server task, the Rooms and Resources Manager (RnRMgr) that is responsible for processing all reservation requests and updating the busy time for rooms and resources. As a result, there have been some changes made to the previous Rooms & Resources (R&R) process.

Clustering the Domino 7 Resource Reservations Database

The Rooms and Resources Manager is designed to prevent overbooking of rooms or resources and is responsible for both the processing of all rooms and resources activities, such as meeting invitations, reschedules or cancellations, and updating the Busytime database accordingly.
