BP406 Domino for iSeries Administration and Performance Best Practices
Chris Whisonant
Kim Greene

It's official - I received the final confirmation this morning. I will be co-presenting a Domino for iSeries session with Kim Greene at Lotusphere 2006!

Here was our abstract submission that should be in stone:

Title: Domino for iSeries Administration and Performance Best Practices

Abstract: Domino is a complex application environment, are you taking advantage of the iSeries implementation to its fullest extent? This session will show you how to exploit the iSeries architecture to get the most out of your Domino servers. You will learn about indispensable commands that are not well documented and get tips on debugging Domino servers, including Sametime. Additionally, you will learn insights into using BRMS for on-line backups. Performance tuning tips will also be provided. In particular, we will look at mail file performance best practices , how and when to adjust runtime priorities, and how to optimize memory management by adjusting Domino buffer pools and tricks to ensure you are not wasting memory. You will also learn about differences you can expect to see with Domino 7 on the iSeries.

David, if you need assistance give me a call. My AIM info is whisonantc - I took off my GTalk, but could reinstall if that would work. Just let me know! We're not going to go into much with BRMS because you can do an entire session on it - I've attended one before...

Congratulations! I get a few questions regarding iSeries in my classes. Should be a good session.

We're both looking forward to presenting this session. There haven't been many server-specific classes at the Sphere for the past several years.

Congrats Chris. If I make it down to Lotusphere, I'll be sure to attend so I can heckle you. :-)

Jerry - thanks, I think! I hope you will be able to make it this year. Just don't sit on the front row and make faces at me or I'll ask DC to test some more apps for you! =)
